Conversations about the MLS industry, creating software, and employee ownership.

Honestly, I can hardly believe I’m doing this. From the outside, Twitter seems to lack the substance I usually crave. And I hardly need another on-line addiction activity. I was spurred into action this morning by Dustin Luther announcing on Twitter that he’s left Move.com. Seems important. Best of luck to you, Dustin, I look forward to following your next venture — on Twitter, I guess.

Post hoc updates:

Greg Swann quoting Hugh Macleod — “I guess my point is, if you’re one of these people considering giving up on blogging in exchange for paying more attention to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace, or whatever they throw at us mere mortals, bear in mind you are giving up on something rather unique and wonderful. But I would say that.”

Steve Rubel — “The lesson here is to never rest on your laurels. Know what your skills are/aren’t but don’t be afraid to test new ground. When I first tried Twitter I didn’t get it. Now I don’t know how I live without it and it helps me create better, more meaningful content here while also driving my brand.”

Michael,

Welcome to the twitter-sphere… I’ve added you to my follwed list already. With what FBS does, I see it as a good tool for your work.

Teri Lussier does a good job of describing how she sees twitter fitting her biz at BHB – http://www.bloodhoundrealty.com/BloodhoundBlog/?p=2289

Michael:
Welcome to the world of tweets! I look forward to adding you to my following list.
I too was skeptical but what I had found that in this time of changing from “real estate is local” to “real estate is global”; Twitter keeps it personal. We have daily conversations. IMHO I think that is a good thing. I have folks I follow from all over that I learn from on a daily basis – in short bite size pieces. Plus we have some fun while we’re at it!

Do beware there is that addictive quality about it!

I am a few weeks into my twitter-time, and so far it has offered some interesting interactions that I might not have gotten otherwise. A quick tip, be sure to set your “sleep” hours, I learned the hard way that I may not be interested in some rockin party in San Fran at 3 am EST. :-)
